West Pak Avocado hires Ruben Barahona as director of logistics

West Pak Avocado, Murrieta, Calif., hired Ruben Barahona in a new position of director of logistics.

West Pak Avocado, Murrieta, Calif., hired Ruben Barahona in a new position of director of logistics.

Barahona most recently was at Chiquita Brands International as fruit allocation senior manager for North America, based in Florida, according to a news release. He was at Chiquita for more than 20 years, as transportation manager in the U.S., Panama and Honduras.

He also was supply chain manager for GWF, Chiquita’s global logistics subsidiary in North Carolina, and sourcing and allocation manager for North America, Europe and Costa Rica,

Barahona’s background is strong in transportation, logistics and supply chain management, according to the release.

At West Pak Avocado, he will work out of the Murrieta facility and report to CEO Mario Pacheco.

“We are extremely confident that Ruben’s strong skills and qualifications, plus his high-level professionalism and people focus, will be an excellent match for his appointed position and a strong asset to our management team,” Pacheco said in the release.
