Hammonton, N.J.-based International Fruit Co. will see bigger imported citrus volume this summer, says Norman Barao, vice president of sales and marketing.

Barao said the company sources citrus from Peru and Chile, with expectations for increased volume compared with a year ago.

“We are marketing Sesame Street brand clementines in 10 by 3-pound bags, 15 by 2-pound bags, 6 by 5-pound bags and 4 by 8-pound bags,” he said. Currently, he said 10-count cartons with 3-pound bags are the standard pack for clementines.

“We also will have navel oranges arriving the first days of July from Chile and will also pack in Sesame Street brand 10 by 3-pound bags.”

The company’s main sustainability initiatives include lowering its carbon footprint and investing in Fair Trade programs.
