Naturipe Farms expects to have volumes of its Michigan blueberries from late June through September, says Brian Bocock, vice president of product management.

“We are so excited for an incredible crop of Michigan blueberries this season, with peak supplies just weeks away,” Bocock said. “Retailers and consumers will find plenty of conventional and organic blueberries from Michigan.”

Full bloom for the blueberry crop was a little earlier than a year ago, he said.

“We will see strong volumes from our proprietary varieties, which are new releases from our Berry Blue breeding program,” Bocock said. “These varieties, some of which debuted last season, are firmer, juicier and packed full of flavor.”

Naturipe Farms is also expecting plenty of volume of Mighty Blues, its jumbo blueberries that are offered throughout the summer months.

“These berries taste amazing and are an incredible topper to your favorite dessert,” he said. “They also freeze easily for smoothies and milkshakes on a hot summer day.”

Among its social media marketing activities, Naturipe features a cocktail or mocktail where berries, like blueberries, elevate the drink.

“Just recently, we highlighted the Blueberry Gin Martini and previously, the Blueberry Bourbon Smash,” Bocock said. “Stay tuned for the Blueberry Peach Spritzer, which will be the drink of the summer. These recipes, and many others featuring blueberries, are the perfect way to incorporate delicious blueberries into your menu. Of course, you can’t go wrong with a handful of fresh blueberries, either!”
