The flagship brand for Idaho Falls, Idaho-based Potandon Produce is Green Giant, and retailers can build displays with the full line of Green Giant Fresh branded Idaho potatoes to drives sales, said Dick Thomas, senior vice president of sales.

Potandon is a diversified Idaho potato supplier, shipping russet, red, yellow, mini, and value-added potatoes.

Thomas said the reduced yields in Idaho could lead to firm prices for Idaho fresh potatoes.

“We look to continually grow our sales by offering new, healthy and unique products that consumers want,” Thomas said.

The Idaho Potato Commission helps promote the state’s crop by being constantly in front of both foodservice operators and retailers, getting the word out that potatoes are good for consumers.

“Foodservice demand has come back considerably in the last year and we expect it to continue to strengthen as long as COVID is held at bay,” Thomas said.
