U.S. fresh potato exports have had a very good year, USDA trade statistics show.

From October 2021 through September 2022, the USDA reported that exports of U.S. fresh potatoes totaled $288.9 million, up 10% from the previous year.

The top markets for U.S. fresh potatoes in the period were, in the rank of importance, Canada, Mexico, Japan and Taiwan.

The USDA reported that selected U.S. exports, from October 2021 through September 2022, included:

  • Total exports to all countries: $288.9 million, up 10%
  • Canada: $93.6 million, down 15%
  • Mexico: $77.6 million, up 37%
  • Japan: $25.5 million, up 39%
  • Taiwan: $18.3 million, up 4%
  • Dominican Republic: $11.1 million, up 40%
  • South Korea: $10.6 million, down 1%
  • Philippines: $10.1 million, up 61%
  • Honduras: $9.1 million, up 34%
  • Malaysia: $5.6 million, up 19%
  • Guatemala: 4.01 million, up 41%
