Fresh Innovations/Yo Quiero! Brands has been in the avocado and dip industry for almost 25 years, and the innovations continue.

That’s the message of Tara Murray, vice president of marketing for Fresh Innovations LLC, Rhome, Texas.

“Fresh Innovations/Yo Quiero! Brands is constantly innovating in the avocado sector,” Murray said. “We were the first to market with an avocado cream cheese dip that is delicious. We have great avocado-forward items coming soon.”

Murray said Fresh Innovations recently created a lightly branded square container that fits in perfectly within the fresh-cut sets of produce departments.

“The minimal Fresh Innovations branding allows consumers to see more of the product and allows the produce managers to add a dip destination to their sets without disrupting the look and feel of what they are creating,” she said. “And by having this packaging available for produce, we can continue with our Yo Quiero!-branded product in the deli. So far, retailers really like the dual packaging strategy. They have one supplier to call for their dip destination needs in both departments.”

Murray said Fresh Innovations/Yo Quiero! Brands is the ultimate dip destination for consumers and retailers.

“We offer mouthwatering guacamole, salsa, queso, elote, bean dips and avocado cream cheese dips with flavors like jalapeño popper, spinach bacon and cheesy bacon ranch,” she said. “Our variety of dips enhances any avocado and guacamole section by offering consumers more variety and retailers more sales.”

Demand rising

With avocado consumption at an all-time high, consumers are looking for different and creative ways to use avocados in their daily meals, Murray said.

“Avocado toast is huge, driven by millennials and Gen Zers, which has increased our mashed avocado sales,” she said. “And with Mexican-inspired dishes becoming more mainstream, consumers are using guacamole on things such as sandwiches, salads, burgers and, of course, with chips.”

Brand support

Fresh Innovations/Yo Quiero! Brands supports retailers with their private-label programs, but Murray said the company has seen that retailers are gravitating more to its Fresh Innovations-branded product because it has a made-in-store look and fits their needs.

In addition, for both Fresh Innovations and Yo Quiero! items, the brand offers retailers deals that allow them to decrease prices during key dip holidays — such as the Super Bowl, Cinco de Mayo, Fourth of July and more — to encourage trial, usage and multiple purchases, she said.

“These deals benefit the retailer to drive sales, and for the consumers to buy products at reduced prices,” Murray said.
