NatureFresh vegetables earn People’s and Kids’ Choice awards

Leamington, Ontario-based NatureFresh Farms’ produce got some love in the 11th annual Greenhouse Vegetable Awards with a People’s Choice award and three Kids’ Choice awards.

The company’s Tomberry Tomatoes won the People’s Choice Award for Hottest Tomato, according to a news release, as well as the Kids’ Choice Award in the same category.

NatureFresh’s mini cucumbers won the Kids’ Choice Award for Coolest Cucumber, and its yellow bell peppers earned the Kids’ Choice Award for Perfect Pepper.

“The People’s Choice and Kids’ Choice Awards are such impactful awards to win because they have everything to do with the end consumer,” Matt Quiring, executive retail sales accounts manager for NatureFresh, said in the release.

“They’re also incredibly important because children are the buyers of tomorrow.”

Funds raised from the competition benefit R.E.A.C.H. International, which builds schools, clinics and wells in Uganda.
