Red Sun Farms earns greenhouse awards

Kingsville, Ontario-based Red Sun Farms took home some honors for its tomatoes and cucumbers in the 11th annual Leamington Greenhouse Vegetable Awards.

Red Sun’s mini cucumbers won first place in the Best Hothouse Mini Seedless Cucumber category, according to a news release.

Its specialty tomatoes on the vine earned second place in the Best Hothouse Cluster Tomato category.

The company earned first place honors in the Best Hothouse Roma Tomatoes and Best Hothouse Specialty Tomato categories with its roma tomatoes and gourmet cherry on the vine tomatoes.

“These awards solidify what we already knew, in that we have some of best products available on the market,” Carlos Visconti, CEO of Canada and U.S. operations, said in the release. 

The competition is hosted by R.E.A.C.H. International, and proceeds fund schools and clinics in Uganda.
