Crespo Organic celebrates start of ataulfo season

Ataulfo mangoes from Mexican grower Crespo Organic began shipping in late January and will continue until late August.

Crespo Organic ataulfo mangoes are distributed in the U.S. by RCF Distributors, McAllen, Texas, a distribution arm of El Grupo Crespo, according to a news release. RCF Distributors also has a warehouse facility in Nogales, Ariz., shipping throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Crespo Organic plans in-store sampling, social media videos on how to cut and store the fruit, website recipes, and training for store employees to help educate consumers on mangoes.Social media education will also include ataulfo-specific messages, such as its pronunciation and history.

Crespo Organic’s Mexican mango program begins in Oaxaca and Chiapas regions in late January and then moves to Nayarit into Sinaloa, according to the release.
