Side Delights potatoes from San Francisco-based Fresh Solutions Network fit into some of the top-recommended diet plans for 2018.

According to a company news release, its products can be part of some of the most nutritionally sound diets as ranked by the U.S. News and World Report 2018 Best Diets list.

The top two diets on the list are the Mediterranean diet and the DASH diet, according to the release.

The Mediterranean diet recommends eating foods popular in the Mediterranean region such as olive oil, fish and vegetables.

The DASH diet, which has been the report’s No. 1 overall diet for eight years in a row, was started by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and emphasizes eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein as a way to reduce blood pressure, according to the release.

“It is no secret that vegetables are good for you, and should be included in almost any healthy, balanced diet,” Kathleen Triou, president and CEO of Fresh Solutions Network, said in the release.

“As America’s favorite vegetable, potatoes are the perfect whole food that can be prepared in a variety of ways as an integral part of almost any vegetable-based diet or nutrition plan.”

Side Delights offers bagged, bulk, organic and specialty potatoes, according to the release, as well as fresh-cut and value-added potato products, according to the release.
