Fiesta Farms, Eagle Eye Produce merge
Onion grower Fiesta Farms, Nyssa, Ore., and Eagle Eye Produce, Idaho Falls, have merged.
Eagle Eye, which grows potatoes, onions and other vegetables, has handled sales of Fiesta’s onions for three years. In a news release on the merger, Fiesta Farms president Marc Bybee calls it the “next logical step,” combining the ownership of the companies.
With the merger, Fiesta’s onion sales remain under the Eagle Eye umbrella, according to Lance Poole, vice president of sales at Eagle Eye, in the release. The Nyssa sales office is “looking for additional sales and support personnel,” according to the release.
Those new hires will work with sales manager Jason Pearson in the Eagle Office near Fiesta’s warehouse, according to the release.
The new ownership agreement present “opportunities for additional onion volume” at the Nyssa warehouse, according to the release. That doesn’t mean, however, that more onions will be grown in the Treasure Valley.
In the release, Bybee said there might be area growers who are “looking for a seasoned yet motivated team to work with.”
Bybee remains president and Poole, Eagle Eye vice president of sales, is vice president. Nyssa warehouse staff includes Marc’s father, Garry Bybee; Marc’s wife Tamara; their son Yuta Bybee, and son-in-law Neil Berdowski.
