The Kroger Co. says it’s helping families celebrate Independence Day with $15 grilling recipes and ideas for get-togethers this July 4.

“From backyard barbeques to hometown parades and firework displays, nothing brings our country together like the Fourth of July,” said Dan De La Rosa, Kroger group vice president of fresh merchandising. “As friends and families gather to celebrate, we join our customers in honoring our nation’s birthday with special gratitude for all who have sacrificed to protect America’s freedom. We are grateful to play a part in these celebrations with everyday low prices and special savings on all the holiday staples America’s families need to honor Independence Day.”

Produce plays a role in each of the $15 recipes, including:

Sweet and Spicy Grilled Porkchops: A dry rub made from cinnamon, ginger, cumin and red pepper flakes for grilled pork chops that are ready in under 20 minutes.
Grilled Lime Chicken with Mango Salsa: Garlic lime marinade makes the chicken juicy and delicious, says Kroger, while the mango salsa adds a sweet finish with a little heat.
Shrimp and Vegetable Kebabs: This recipe makes a satisfying plate of juicy shrimp and crisp vegetables grilled over a flame, says Kroger.
Grilled Beef or Bison Veggies Burgers: This burger packs a tangy flavor and is made even more delicious topped with grilled zucchini and onions, the grocer says.
Grilled Summer Veggie Orecchiette Pasta: Grilling brings out the natural flavor of seasonal produce, while toasted orecchiette adds richness, making this salad a fresh main course or perfect side.
The whole cookout: Kroger invites shoppers to check out its grilling barbecue for just $4 per person. The bundle includes burgers, buns, sides, salads and more.

With everyday “locked-in-low prices” and special seasonal savings, Kroger says it is helping families honor the holiday without skipping on any summertime favorites. The retailer is also touting its stores as a one-stop shop for “all things fresh,” including: Asparagus, sweet corn on the cob, mushrooms, sweet onions, peaches, watermelon, Kroger brand veggie trays, bag salads, red cherries and more.
