ORLANDO, Fla. — The Little Potato Co. has two new flavors in its microwaveable and oven/grill lines and a new look for all of its packaging, says Richard Vann, vice president of marketing and product innovation.

Tomato Basil is the company’s new Microwave Ready flavor, and Roasted Red Pepper & Onion is new to the Oven/Grill Ready line. The new packaging is designed to reduce the amount of packaging overall while also giving consumers a look at the potatoes within, Vann says.

Both lines feature transparent top-seal films and the microwaveable line has a clear tray, while the grill/oven line now has a foil pan.

Flavor packets are now included inside the tray with the potatoes, rather than elsewhere in the packaging, to eliminate losing the packet. Packaging emphasizes the potatoes’ nutrition content, as well, Vann says.

The company designed the new look after conducting consumer research in the U.S. and Canada, he says. The look launched in July and has rolled out in the past 2-3 months, he says. Packs retail for $3.99-4.99.
