No sour grapes — Sun-Maid offers sour raisins

Sun-Maid raisins are going sour.

The company is marketing Sun-Maid Sour Raisin Snacks, a no-sugar added product that will be arriving in stores in January.

The sour raisins are available in four flavors: mixed berry, watermelon, grape and strawberry, and they come in 0.7-ounce bags of seven in a box. They’ll be stocked in stores dried fruit sections, according to a news release.

“Sun-Maid Sour Raisin Snacks allow us to expand our product portfolio while meeting the growing demand for more sour snacking options,” Harry Overly, CEO and president of Sun-Maid, Kingsburg, Calif., said in the release. “Generations of parents know Sun-Maid as the convenient snack choice that they feel good about serving their family. With Sun-Maid Sour Raising Snacks we are going beyond Sun-Maid’s iconic red box and offering new flavors of real, whole fruit snacks.”
