Tops adds Instacart services to nine more stores

While the COVID-19 pandemic drags on for the foreseeable future, Tops Friendly Markets is expanding its contactless options to customers.

Already in 131 Tops locations, this home-delivery feature will now be available to shoppers at nine additional stores in these New York towns: Northville, Stanford, Ausable Forks, Chestertown, Hoosick Falls, Watkins Glen, Bath, Boonville and Arcade.

“This expansion marks our 13th and largest expansion since Tops launched Instacart services in 2017,” Tops Digital Marketing Manager Jillian Sirica said in a news release.

Based in Williamsville, N.Y., Tops Markets operates 150 grocery stores in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont, including five that are run by franchisees.

Before this latest addition, this same-day home delivery service was available across the chain’s footprint in Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, N.Y., as well as Erie, Pa., in November 2017.  In 2018, Tops added 44 new stores to the Instacart fold.

Whether shoppers live in a larger city or a rural community, they now have access to same-day home delivery Tops through Instacart.

Sometimes, fresh produce and other groceries can be delivered to consumers’ doors in as little as one hour.

Since the onset of the pandemic in 2020, Instacart has become almost essential for millions of people in the U.S. and Canada to safely, reliably and affordably get the groceries and household goods they need in a contactless way.
