Innovia Films’ newly launched high barrier BOPP Propafilm Strata SL film has earned a “very good” rating and has been awarded the “Made for recycling” logo by a German consulting company.

Interseroh, an Independent German recycling and consulting company, rated the film and evaluated the packaging based on several criteria, including after-life processes (collection, sorting, recycling and processing), according to a news release.

“This certification proves the recyclability of our new Strata BOPP film,” Alasdair McEwen, global product manager of packaging for Innovia Films. “As it is a mono structure, the film performs much better in recycling than composite films and can be added to the polypropylene closed-loop and reused.”

The release said the Propafilm Strata SL provides a strong barrier even at high relative humidity levels, giving it the ability to increase shelf life of perishables and reduce food waste.
