Yakima, Wash.-based Kwik Lok Corp. has said its new polypropylene bag closure keeps products safe and fresh while also delivering on a better potential for recycling.

Called the Enviro-Lok, the product will be displayed by Kwik Lok at booth No. 3331 at the International Fresh Produce Association’s Global Floral & Produce Show in Anaheim, Calif., Oct. 19-21, and the International Bakery Association show in Munich, Germany, Oct. 22-26 in Hall B1, booth No. 111, according to a news release.

Enviro-Lok offers the same strength and reliability that goes hand in hand with the Kwik Lok name, the release said. In addition, the product has the added benefits of 34% less plastic than the standard Kwik Lok closure, 67% less water and 44% less carbon emissions emitted, and it runs on current Kwik Lok machines, according to the release.

Customers may also choose the new ultrasonic-welded labels, offered only with the Enviro-Lok, for branding, tracking and traceability, the release said.

“Enviro-Lok makes it easier for our customers and the consumer to support a circular economy,” Viktoria Pakhnyuk, sustainable product development manager for Kwik Lok, said in the release.
