Although Rutherford, N.J.-Based Genpro Inc. transports fresh fruits and vegetables nationwide, the 35-year-old company aims to provide more than just transportation solutions, said Robert Goldstein, founder and president.

By understanding its clients’ needs and acting as an extension of their businesses, the firm is able to “combine personalized service with strategic value, creating genuine partnerships and fostering long-term success,” he said.

Genpro’s network is structured to ensure seamless movement of goods from farm to table, Goldstein said, “whether transporting from California’s Salinas Valley or the Southeast’s farming regions.”

Goldstein said he was attracted to the produce category because he saw an opportunity to bring innovation and reliability to produce logistics — “a field that requires precision and care.”

“Fresh produce has unique demands, and we were excited by the challenge of meeting them head-on,” he said.

Besides delivering product, Goldstein said Genpro provides 24/7 support, real-time temperature monitoring and digital capabilities.

“We’ve invested heavily in technology, implementing tools such as transportation management systems, real-time tracking and data analytics platforms,” he said.

These technologies allow Genpro to minimize delays, reduce costs and make data-driven decisions that improve service quality, he said.

“Our vast carrier network allows us to flex capacity when our clients need it most — especially during peak seasons,” he added.

Genpro, which handles other temperature-sensitive goods and dry freight as well as produce, plans to continue to explore advances in automation and data analytics to further streamline its operations, Goldstein said.

“We’re also focusing on expanding our reach in temperature-sensitive logistics beyond produce and tapping into other markets that require high standards of care and precision,” he said.

Goldstein said the company’s greatest advantage is its people.

“Our team is passionate, engaged and deeply aligned with our clients’ goals and cultures,” he said. “From seamless communication to tackling the unique challenges of each shipment, our people drive everything we do.”
