Maglio McAllen, a division of the Fresh Group Ltd., McAllen, Texas, has added consolidation to its list of services offered to produce distributors nationwide.

Maglio can streamline companies’ free-on-board shipping efficiencies by using its own fleet to consolidate purchase orders around the greater McAllen area and ensure the cold chain is maintained throughout the process — from pick-up, to monitored storage at Maglio’s facility, to loading on the final truck, according to a news release.

Eric Schriever, director of sales and operations, said Maglio McAllen can be a one-stop program for a distributor’s needs in the Rio Grande Valley.

“The consolidation service complements our complete line of Mexican produce we already handle,” Schriever said in the release.

The company focuses primarily on Mexican imports and can deliver straight from the field to the distributor.

The 30,000-square-foot refrigerated warehouse is Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point certified, audited through the Global Food Safety Initiative, and is Produce Traceability Initiative compliant.

Maglio McAllen offers value-added programs such as private labeling, custom packaging and inventory management.
