The Canadian Produce Marketing Association, Ottawa, Ontario, has launched an initiative to spread the word on produce consumption benefits, the Half Your Plate Health Professionals Network.

The website is designed to educate dietitians and other health professionals, and the CPMA is asking member companies who work with them to join the network and support the Half Your Plate message, according to a news release.

By signing up, health professionals receive monthly newsletters that focus on the latest news and educational materials on the Half Your Plate program. They’ll also have access to resources/presentations to educate clients and consumers on easy ways to increase fresh produce consumption, according to the release.

“These materials bolster our existing Half Your Plate toolkit and help address important disparities in consumer education,” CPMA dietitian Jennifer Ong Tone said in the release.

The CPMA is encouraging dietitians, nutritionists, doctors, nurses and other health professionals to register through the site.
