Main Street Produce, Santa Maria, Calif., has hired Roger Privett III as sales and business development manager.

Privett will handle day-to-day sales and marketing at the grower-shipper, which has strawberries, raspberries, broccoli and Brussels sprouts, Paul Allen, director of sales, said in a news release.

He previously was vice president of business development at Bobalu LLC and West Coast Berry Farms LLC, and was purchasing and operations manager at Eclipse Berry Farms.

Main Street’s berry crop looks like it will have consistent production of strawberries into the summer months, according to the news release.
The Santa Maria growing region had a 3-week setback because of frost in early February, but the plants are bouncing back.

“With our westside Santa Maria program, we can provide high-quality strawberries from March through December,” Privett said in the release.
