Jim Provost talks garlic and what lies ahead - Interview April 2

The Packer's Tom Karst visits April 2 with Jim Provost, president of I Love Produce, West Grove, Pa.

I Love Produce is an importer of ginger and garlic from China, and Provost talks about the progression of the coronavirus COVID-19 in China. After major supply disruptions earlier this year, the garlic supply from China is returning to normal, he said.

Provost also discusses the current hot state of garlic demand.

In consideration of the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak to North America, Provost considers what the future may hold for the U.S. in the months ahead.

"When the peak of the virus hit, China was more or less shut down for about two months, so we might be looking at mid-June before we are where they are now," he said.

"I think people have to understand that they are going to have to be patient and diligent through this process."
