Chiquita promotes celebrating National Banana Day at home
Consumers staying at home on National Banana Day, April 15, will have no problem finding banana recipes and activities to celebrate, thanks to Chiquita Brands International.
The fruit company has loaded its website with things to do, including six new recipes with banana as the main ingredient, and a Play with Chiquita landing page with puzzles and other activities for children.
Consumers can participate in challenges on the Chiquita Instagram account to win prizes.
“This year’s National Banana Day is different than any other because people across the country are at home practicing social distancing while facing a great deal of uncertainty,” Tina Varjabedian, marketing manager for North America, said in the release. “By sharing engaging ways for people of all ages to celebrate the holiday at home, Chiquita hopes to reduce stress and provide refreshing distractions, while honoring our mission to highlight the fun side of healthy living.”
Even Miss Chiquita is celebrating National Banana Day at home. The company updated its blue sticker to remind people to stay at home.
Chiquita is donating millions of bananas across the world to improve access to healthy food during the pandemic.
