Category Partners and The Packer partner on April 22 retail web event

(The Packer)

An April 22 web seminar hosted by The Packer and conducted by Category Partners will look at what is coming next for fresh produce at retail during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event was originally scheduled for April 17 but was rescheduled because of technical issues.

Registration for the hour-long web event, set for noon Pacific on Wednesday, April 22, is available online

Steve Lutz, senior vice president of insights and innovation for Category Partners, and Adam Brohimer, president, will share insights on produce department sales through Easter week.

According to event organizers, the web seminar will examine how consumers have responded so far to the crisis, and consider what retail and consumer data indicates may be coming in the weeks ahead.

The web seminar will include discussion of a April 18-19 consumer study that looked at how the economic fallout of COVID-19 is hitting retail.

Before joining Category Partners, Lutz was chief strategist and vice president of marketing for Wenatchee-based CMI Orchards. Brohimer previously worked in a variety of category management, business development and client support roles including with IRI and Perishables Group.

Category Partners is based in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with offices in Laguna Hills, Calif., Chicago, and Wenatchee, Wash.
