Dominique Amilien is the new CEO at seed company Vilmorin-Mikado.

Amilien, who has more than 30 years of experience in the international agricultural sector, joined Limagrain in 1987, according to a news release, which is an agricultural cooperative and international seed group. Vilmorin-Mikado is now a part of Limagrain.

Amilien was in commercial, managerial and executive positions at Limagrain, and headed Vilmorin Jardin’s international business and marketing department. In 2011, he joined Vilmorin-Mikado as director of global sales and was promoted to deputy CEO in 2018, according to the release.

Vilmorin-Mikado, a France-based company, has a U.S. subsidiary, Vilmorin North America, in Salinas, Calif. Vilmorin North America focuses on leafy greens and brassica, but has a wide range of vegetable products.

“The unprecedented coronavirus situation shows the importance of the work done by the entire agricultural sector, actively contributing to securing the food of tomorrow,” Amilien said in the release. “This is a shared, essential mission that gives meaning to what we do every day. I’m especially proud of the Vilmorin-Mikado teams who mobilized to keep our business going and serve our customers during this difficult period.”
