Podcast — Director of produce Chris Keetch talks sustainability

Episode 14 of Tip of the Iceberg Podcast, brought to you by The Packer and PMG, features an interview with Chris Keetch, director of produce and floral for Carlisle, Pa.-based The Giant Co., and the banner's sustainability lead Kristin Skovira.

Giant recently had four more stores reach the zero waste standard, meaning they’re diverting 90% of their waste from landfills. Keetch and Skovira discuss what has to be done at store level to meet that standard, including in produce departments, and how the company is looking overall at sustainability.

Keetch talks about sustainability efforts in the fresh produce division specifically and about how the company's emphasis on sustainability informs conversations Giant is having with suppliers about what it needs in terms of packaging.
