Chop Shop Produce satisfies PACA order, can apply for license

The Chop Shop Produce LLC, San Antonio, has satisfied a Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act reparation order.

The company can operate in the industry again after applying for and receiving a PACA license, according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture news release.

Chop Shop Produce paid the $7,111 it owed to satisfy the PACA order, and the company’s principals, Jamie Gonzalez and James Smith, can be employed by and affiliated with PACA licensees, according to the release.

The debt was owed to a California company that sold produce to Chop Shop. The USDA sanctioned the company for violating the PACA in July 2018.
