(Almost) settling in to the new normal

(The Packer)

Are we getting back to normal? One vaccine shot at a time, perhaps.

We asked this question to the LinkedIn Fresh Produce Industry Discussion Group today.

How are you transitioning back to more social and public life compared to the height of the pandemic in your area?

Voting so far:

  • Traveling by plane: 27%
  • Shopping in stores/vs online: 27%
  • Dining in at restaurants: 27%
  • No longer working from home: 19%

Also, just a quick chart showing selected fresh fruit f.o.b. prices since the beginning of 2019.  The common valleys are fairly easy to associate with the start of the pandemic, with corresponding price surges a few weeks after the start of the lockdown.
