United Fresh offers Cyclospora web seminar

United Fresh Produce Association is offering a web seminar on best management practices to preventing Cyclospora.

The web interactive Cyclospora web seminar is set for May 6 and will discuss best management practices from the Food and Drug Administration, according to a news release.
  
Registration is free to United Fresh members

This webinar is targeted toward growers and buyers of produce and supports a June 15 event hosted by the Center for Produce Safety focused on current research.

Featured speakers, according to the release, include: 

  • Kruti Ravaliya, division of produce safety, Fresh Produce Branch, Consumer Safety Officer, FDA;
  • Margaret Dominguez, vice president of food safety and compliance, Shenandoah Growers, Inc.;
  • Tim Jackson, vice president of food safety and compliance, worker welfare, Driscolls;
  • Takashi Nakamura, vice president of research and development, QA and agricultural services, Fresh Del Monte; and
  • German Rios, national senior quality manager, Fresh Express.
