Eastern Produce Council gets into the swing of 2021

Industry members gathered April 27 in Edison, N.J., for Eastern Produce Council’s first event of 2021, the annual TopGolf event, sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Agriculture.

“People were happy to be out, together with their colleagues from the produce industry,” Susan McAleavey Sarlund, EPC executive director, said in a news release.

The event included Chris Yonce, South Carolina Peach Council president (left to right); Weatherly Thomas of South Carolina Specialty Crop Growers Association; McAleavey Sarlund; Stevie Stills of South Carolina Watermelon Association; Hugh Weathers, South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture; Katie Pfeiffer, South Carolina Department of Agriculture market development coordinator; Kelly Davis of Allegiance Retail Services; Michelle Cantey of the South Carolina Department of Agriculture and EPC vice president; Marianne Santo of Wakefern Food Corp. and EPC president; Tracy Simmonds of Affinity Sales and EPC board member; Jack Schuler, South Carolina Department of Agriculture economic development director; and Clint Leach, South Carolina Department of Agriculture assistant commissioner.
