Oneonta Starr Ranch Growers looks for larger cherry crops, expects more organic
Oneonta Starr Ranch Growers expects a larger cherry crop this year, said Dan Davis, director of business development for the Yakima, Wash.-based marketer.
“We should be ramped up to full production by the second week of June and flow through at that pace until the third week of July,” Davis said.
The company’s cherries should peak on 10.5 row and larger, he said.
Organic cherries represent about 5% of total volume for Starr Ranch Growers, Davis said, with much more in transition in the next three years.
