GRAPEVINE, Texas - McAllen, Texas-based Traveler Produce LLC has expanded its Pharr facility from 20,000 to 60,000 square feet, Homero Cardenas, sales representative, said at the Texas International Produce Association’s 2022 Viva Fresh Expo on April 23.

The company’s warehouse in Pharr, right next to the Pharr International Bridge, has been expanded to manage the company’s growing volume. The expansion will also allow the company to get trucks in and out faster and expand its customer services, he said.

The company has been around 11 years and 80% of the firm’s volume consists of roma tomatoes, with the balance accounted for by bell peppers, cucumbers, other tomatoes, and jalapeno and other pepper varieties.

New repacking capabilities are a part of the company’s expanded facility, he said.

“One of the things that really has helped set us apart from the competition is we have an inhouse repack facility,” Cardenas said. “We are  able to offer value-added packaging, RPC packaging and different styles of packaging to our customers."
