Lipman Farms hosts 5K backpack fundraiser

Lipman Family Farms recently raised $25,000 with its annual “Run for Backpacks” 5K and Junior Fun Run.

Sponsors and 211 participants help raised the funds, to be used to purchase 1,300 backpacks filled with school supplies for local students, according to a news release.

“Encouraging education and healthy lifestyles is part of our core here at Lipman and we hope to serve even more children in the years to come,” Jaime Weisinger, community relations director for Lipman and board chairman for the Lipman Family Foundation, said in the release.

Backpacks will be distributed at an annual giveaway event on Aug. 5, according to the release.
