The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Keyes Packaging Group, is the first company in the molded fiber industry to do so, according to a news release.
“We embarked on the certification process to support our customer’s own SQF efforts and strengthen our existing partnerships,” Ted Kozikowski, CEO of Keyes Fibre, said in the release.
He said the certification was the next logical step to the company’s AIB audit and inspection program.
“SQF certification supplements our focus on environmental responsibility and sustainability,” he said in the release.
The certification was achieved in March.
The SQF certification process has resulted in enhanced final product traceability, raw material tracking and multiple systematic improvements, according to the release.
The certification helps protect customer brands by focusing on hazard analysis, risk assessment and proactive prevention strategies, and gives buyers an online listing of suppliers’ audit results and certification status.
