The United Fresh Produce Association is accepting applications for the 24th class of the United Fresh Produce Industry Leadership Program.

The program, sponsored by DowDuPont Agriculture Division, launched in 1995 and has graduated more than 250 produce industry members, according to a news release.

“We are quite proud of the longevity of this program and the positive impact it has had on our industry,” said Tom Stenzel, United Fresh president and CEO, in the release. “Through our steadfast partnership and support from DowDuPont, we are not only investing in the future of fresh produce leaders, but also in the future of the industry as a whole.”

DowDuPont’s sponsorship means the leadership program is fully paid for participants, according to the release.

The program focuses on four areas:

> leadership development;

> business relationships;

> government and public affairs; and

> media and public communications.

The yearlong program includes four trips that allow for hands-on training with industry experts and experience interacting with leaders in Washington, D.C.

United Fresh will announce the 12-15 members selected for Class 24 at the 2018 United Fresh Convention in June.

Applicants must be part of a United Fresh member company and have the support of their company. Candidates can find more information and applications for download on United Fresh's website. Applications are due by March 30.
