Whether or not shoppers do it in time for Mother’s Day, creating a snack board customized to Mom’s taste is a doable, trendy and thoughtful idea.
Lake Mary, Fla.-based Village Farms shared some of their favorite snack board ideas featuring the company’s vertically grown, greenhouse specialty tomato, pepper and cucumber varieties, in a news release.
The company also gathered key insights from several Village Farms’ moms to find out what excites them when putting together mouth-watering snack board options for their families.
“Snack boards are the best! It’s so fun watching my daughter explore all the different flavors. She’s especially intrigued by Village Farms’ Scrumptious Mini cucumbers,” Digital Marketing Manager Tiffany Bennett said in the release. She’s mom to her toddler girl, Isla. “My whole family loves the variety of flavors a snack board offers for a casual dining experience. Especially now, as the weather is getting warmer, and we spend more and more time outdoors dining al fresco.”

Vickie Stovall, office coordinator, said in the release that her son, Matt, will make her the Meat Me in the Middle Board for Mother’s Day.
“When it comes to snacking, my son and I are two peas in a pod,” Stovall said. “We both love combining the salty pairings of cured meats with the tanginess of tomatoes and other vegetables.”
Consumers and industry members can use these ideas at home or in (very) last-minute promotions:

- Let’s Taco-bout Flavor: It’s a build-your-own taco board with Cherry No.9 tomatoes and Sweet Bells peppers.
- A Toast to Mom: Full of a fun assortment of toast combinations includes Village Farms Sinfully Sweet Campari tomatoes and Seedless Long English cucumbers layered with cream cheese and avocado with a sprinkling of basil and dill.
