Milwaukie, Ore.-based Pear Bureau Northwest has been using its communications to direct consumers to shoppable recipes along with ripening and storage tips.

The bureau, which has more than 400 recipes linked with online grocery platforms for easy ordering, has been promoting that content through organic and paid media, focusing on recipes easy to make at home, according to a news release. Pear Bureau Northwest is also emphasizing shelf life, particularly since the fruit can be stored in the refrigerator once it is ripe.

One piece of content the organization has circulated is a video outlining how to tell when pears are ripe and how to maximize their shelf life.

“Pears are a tasty, healthy and versatile fruit, and we want to remind people how to enjoy them now or extend their shelf life: Ripen fruit on the counter and store ripe fruit in the fridge to extend their shelf life,” Pear Bureau Northwest president and CEO Kevin Moffitt said in the release. “Simple and delicious.”
