Dallas-based distributor Hardie’s Fresh Foods puts more than a little emphasis on local produce, said Michelle Weech, vice president of marketing.
“We take it to the next level by creating programs for some of our customers,” she said.
For example, the company’s Texas Harvest of the Month program focuses on one item each month in a local school district and provides posters with information about the item, tells where it came from and talks about the grower.
