At the fourth annual NYC AgTech Week Conference, attendees can tour farms and attend panel discussions, workshops and networking events hosted by the NYC Agriculture Collective, a consortium of more than 15 commercial urban farms, tech companies and nonprofits.

The event is Sept. 21-26.

It’s the only agtech conference on the East Coast run by the leaders of the industry themselves, according to nycagtechweek.com.

The events provide access to agtech industry founders, investors, startups and thought leaders, with speakers that include:

  • Rachel Klepner, director of farming and operations of Edenworks;
  • Dermot O’Regan, cofounder and managing director of Grow Bristol;
  • Alina Zolotareva, marketing director of AeroFarms;
  • Jenny Osman, senior project manager of NYC Economic Development Corp.; and
  • Henry Gordon-Smith, founder and managing director of Agritecture.

The schedule includes a workshop led by Cornell University on urban farm management to learn about new research in farm management skills related to the controlled-environment agriculture industry.

At another workshop, experts will weigh in on the factors influencing the global market for sustainable food production, as well as discuss the projected growth path of the agtech industry worldwide.

Attendees can join a discussion on controlled-environment agriculture’s ability to mitigate food safety hazards through testing and safety controls.

Two partnering events coincide with the conference: Climate Week NYC Sept. 23-19 and the Women in AgTech Roundtable with Amy Wu Sept. 21.
