Cutler, Calif.-based Wawona Packing Co. expects to transition its harvest of organic yellow peaches from clingstone to freestone varieties around July 1.

“We have a terrific looking crop. Growing conditions have been ideal for the past few months, with warm days and cool evenings which has helped with color and sizing,” Wawona CEO Will Feliz said in a news release.

The company expects to have promotable volumes of the fruit with a supply lasting until late October.

Wawona’s Sweet-2-Eat organic peaches are grown with a focus on flavor, eating quality, size and appearance, according to the release.

“As good as this tree fruit season looks like it’s going to be, our organic freestone yellow peaches are going to be especially abundant,” Feliz said.

“The fruit is on target to have an incredible flavor profile.”
