Idaho Falls, Idaho-based Potandon Produce LLC reports new crop Arizona red potatoes will be available May 10.

Potandon, the exclusive marketing agent for Elroy, Ariz.-based Pinto Creek Co. LLC, said red potatoes will be available on May 10 and yellow potatoes on May 14, according to a news release.

Early season growing conditions delayed the start of this year’s harvest but not hurt quality, Dick Thomas, senior vice president of sales for Potandon, said in the release. Thomas overall acreage has remained fairly consistent with the last two years, with a slight increase in mini potato acres to meet additional demand.

Pinto Creek, with modern grading equipment and expanded storage capacity, is a Primus certified facility, according to the release.

Potandon also will distribute Arizona-grown potatoes from their Idaho Falls facility beginning about May 18.
