Texas meeting covers inspections of imported Mexican tomatoes

The Texas International Produce Association, Mission, and other groups are sponsoring a meeting on inspections of Mexican tomatoes under the Tomato Suspension Agreement.

The Texas International Produce Association, Mission, and other groups are sponsoring a meeting on inspections of Mexican tomatoes under the Tomato Suspension Agreement.

The Jan. 7 meeting in Pharr will cover the import inspection process for the recently signed suspension agreement for Mexican tomatoes arriving in the U.S. Standard operating procedures, expectations, costs and fee schedules will also be addressed, according to a news release.

The meeting is sponsored by TIPA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, City of Pharr and the Texas Cooperative Inspection Program.
