Sysco gives Taylor Farms top produce supplier award
Sysco Corp. has awarded Taylor Farms, Salinas, Calif., with its top supplier award for fresh produce.
The foodservice company gave Taylor Farms the gold supplier award for produce at a recent Supplier Excellence Awards event in Houston. Five other produce companies were recognized for their service, according to a news release.
Other awards went to:
- Church Brothers Farms: silver supplier;
- ProSource Inc.: bronze supplier;
- EarthFresh Farms: bronze supplier; and
- Driscoll’s: bronze supplier.
Frieda’s Specialty Produce, Los Alamitos, Calif., received a bronze Supplies on the Fly award for e-commerce. Supplies on the Fly is Sysco’s e-commerce platform, and Frieda’s started a partnership with Sysco on the platform in August 2018, according to a news release.
Bonduelle, the parent company of Bonduelle Fresh Americas, received a bronze award for frozen/canned fruits and vegetables.
Award winners were chosen based on sales growth, leadership, innovation, operational excellence and other qualities, according to the Sysco release.
“Sysco has a long-standing tradition of recognizing our top suppliers for their commitment to helping us deliver great products to our customers with exceptional service,” Brian Todd, senior vice president of merchandising and marketing, said in the release. “We keep the customer at the center of everything we do and work hard with our supplier partners to improve the overall customer experience.”
