Foodservice distributor Golbon, Boise, Idaho, has added FoodMaven Inc., to its network of distributors.

FoodMaven, which finds buyers for overproduced or out-of-spec (ugly) fruits and vegetables along with other food that needs to find a home, serves Colorado and Texas, but the company has expansion plans.

“FoodMaven complements their traditional foodservice distribution with a mission to reduce food waste,” according to a Golbon news release. “Their goal is to recover the $200 billion in lost revenue caused by wasted food each year through their innovative technology and logistics platform.”

FoodMaven, which was founded in 2015, is based in Colorado Springs.
