Choptank Transport

Preston, Md.-based Choptank Transport helped Texas residents ravaged by storms.

Dallas sales representative Coleman Stafford, who previously had worked with Houston-based Brother’s Produce, got a call from Brother’s asking for help to transport bottled water to thousands of people left without power after winter storms devastated Texas.

“They needed four trucks on Friday and three more on Saturday. The freight was to be picked up in San Antonio and delivered to a distribution center in Houston,” Stafford said. In Houston, the water was picked up by the Astros Foundation (spearheaded by Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman) for a Saturday relief event at the Astros Youth Academy.

The weather over the weekend reached single digits and below zero, accompanied with rolling power blackouts. “It is not easy conducting business when you don’t have access to reliable Internet services,” said Stafford, “but with the help of our regional offices I was able to secure trucks for all seven loads pretty quickly.”
