Oakes Farms wins contract to supply produce to defense and school customers in Alabama

Oakes Farms Food and Distribution Services LLC, Naples, Fla., has been awarded a maximum $238.5 million federal contract to supply fresh fruit and vegetables to defense and school customers in Alabama.

Oakes Farms Food and Distribution Services LLC, Naples, Fla., has been awarded a maximum $238.5 million federal contract to supply fresh fruit and vegetables to defense and school customers in Alabama, according to a news release.

The company won the contract over three other suppliers, the release said.

The five-year contract, which ends Oct. 25, 2027, has no option periods. Customers include USDA-supplied schools and Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard installations.

The contracting agency is the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia, the release said.
