Produce firms awarded fresh produce supply contracts

The federal contracts have a combined maximum of nearly $285 million.

Two firms were awarded federal fresh produce supply contracts in early October.

Brothers Produce of Dallas Inc., Garland, Texas, has been awarded a maximum $270 million fixed-price with economic-price-adjustment, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for fresh fruit and vegetables, according to a news release.

This five-year contract with the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support has no option periods and was a competitive acquisition with seven responses received, the release said.

The ordering period end date is Oct. 9, 2029, and using customers are non-Department of Defense schools in the Houston region.

In addition, Creation Gardens Inc., Denver, has been awarded a maximum $14.3 million firm-fixed-price with economic-price-adjustment, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for fresh fruits and vegetables, according to a news release.

This five-year contract with the Defense Logistics Agency has no option periods and was a competitive acquisition with two responses received, the release said. The ordering period end date is Oct. 9, 2029, and the using military service is the Army.
