Andy Hamilton is the new CEO of Markon Cooperative, Salinas, Calif.

He succeeds Tim York at Markon, a produce purchaser for North American foodservice distributors.

Most recently, Hamilton was a senior vice president at Get Fresh Cos., a distributor of fresh-cut in the Southwest. Other roles included senior level sales positions at Chiquita Fresh North America and IFCO Systems North America, according to a news release.

Hamilton also was CEO of Eco Farms International, an avocado company.

His background is strong in foodservice, sales, partnership relations and operations management, according to the release.

“I’m excited to work with such an exceptional team of associates, as well as strong grower-shippers serving a thriving membership base of the largest independent foodservice distributors in the country,” Hamilton said in the release.

York was president of Markon since 1990.

“We cannot thank Tim enough for his many contributions and incredible leadership over the last 30 years,” John Roussel, Markon chairman, said in the release. “We are thrilled to have Andy join Markon.

“We are confident he will further our position as an innovator in the industry working closely with Markon members and the grower-shipper community to build the business,” Roussel said in the release.
