Unitec celebrates success of the past year at Fresh Summit

Sorting equipment manufacturer Unitec Group has a lot to talk about since exhibiting at the 2018 Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit.

Sorting equipment manufacturer Unitec Group has a lot to talk about since exhibiting at the 2018 Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit.

The company, which will be at booth No. 2612 at the Fresh Summit expo Oct. 18-19 in Anaheim, is marking its 10th expo in a row. The company has marked a number of milestones since last year, according to a news release:

  • Opened an office in The Dalles, Ore., joining Unitec USA offices in Wenatchee, Wash., and Lodi, Calif.;
  • Opened the Group’s 13th Unitec branch worldwide in Kelowna, British Columbia, in June, when the company celebrated its 95th birthday; and
  • Introduced Unitec Blueberry Vision 3 at Fruit Logistica in February in Berlin.

At this year’s Fresh Summit expo, the company will be talking about its technologies for specific fruit sorting, including Unisorting Pears 3, Dates Sort 3, Peach Vision 3 and UNIQ Peach, according to the release. Unitec representatives will discuss results the equipment have generated for customers worldwide, including Diamond Fruit Growers, Odell, Ore., which updated its pear packinghouse with an 18-lane installation.

“This has been a very important year for Unitec, which has kept innovating its technological portfolio following the path of development in the last 12 months,” Unitec Group president Angelo Benedetti said in the release. “Indeed, Unitec strongly believes that continuous innovation is the only possible way to give real and high-performance answers to the needs of each customer.”
