After almost 25 years, Ron Carkoski retiring from Four Seasons

Ron Carkoski, who has been the CEO the Four Seasons Family of Companies in since 2002, is retiring Dec. 21.

Carkoski joined the company as director of procurement in 1994, when it was Four Seasons Produce.

In 2006, Four Seasons expanded with three new companies to focus on opportunities in the industry, with Earth Source Trading, Sunrise Logistics, and Sunrise Transport, according to a news release.

“Four Seasons was growing rapidly, and I realized Ron had the passion and leadership to take us to the next level,” David Hollinger, founder and chairman of Four Seasons, said in the release. “Ron had earned my trust as well as the management teams’ trust, and he had the keen ability to effectively communicate the vision of the company.”

President Jason Hollinger said Carkoski continues David Hollinger’s entrepreneurial spirit.

“One of his favorite lines in the early years was, ‘Say yes, and we will figure out how to do it later,’” Jason Hollinger said in the release.

Loretta Radanovic, vice president and chief financial officer, describes Carkoski as a strong leader with a big heart.

“Ron sincerely cares about people, and is interested in who you are, how you’re doing, and how to make your work experience meaningful and rewarding,” Radanovic said in the release.

Before joining Four Seasons, he had leadership roles at Gateway Foods in Wisconsin.

On Jan. 15, Carkoski will receive the United Fresh Produce Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in La Quinta, Calif., during FreshStart 2019, the annual fundraising event for the United Fresh Start Foundation.

Carkoski has been on the association’s board of directors, and chairman of its Wholesale Distributor Board, according to the release. He has been on the board of the Delaware Valley Floral Group and chairman of its Talent and Human Resources Committee.

He and his wife Patricia plan to move from Pennsylvania to their home state of Wisconsin. He plans to stay involved in the produce industry, but spend time fishing and playing the piano, according to the release.
